Fifth of a Fifth

Fun.
Bluesy.
JAZZ.

A Fifth of a Fifth is good times with good friends listening to fun, bluesy jazz.  A Fifth of a Fifth combines jazz versions of pop classics; and bluesy, fun jazz which appeals to a wide range of audiences and ages.

A Fifth of a Fifth includes piano, guitar, upright bass, and drums; and has played at various Austin-area festivals including the Pecan Street Festival, Round Rock Beaujolais Nights, and Cedar Park Jazz and Art on Main, as well as other venues such as fine dining restaurants.

Band members have significant combined experience playing Jazz and other genres, and can tailor the band and volume to the performance space.  The drummer plays either drum set or hand percussion depending upon the venue size.

What’s in a name?  A Fifth of a Fifth was named when our founding drummer showed up to a jam session with friends with a mostly finished bottle of whiskey – or a “Fifth of a Fifth.”  You know you are among friends when you can show up to a party with a mostly finished bottle of whiskey, and be welcomed with open arms.  (It’s helps it was a nice Single Malt……)
